I wake up every day feeling dread about AI. As a writer and creative person, it's destroying my hopes for the future and everything I've ever enjoyed and dreamed of since childhood. I worry what it means for our environment, workplaces and mental health. I'm also terrified what's going to happen if it escapes human control. It should not be up to giant tech companies to control something that could have catastrophic consequences without scrutiny or democratic oversight.
