Hi, I’m Abi and I’m a researcher based in Wales. When I talk to my loved ones about AI, the conversation is often filled with a sense of loss: loss of opportunity, loss of nature, loss of human agency and imagination, and most of all, loss of control. People are being told that they don’t have a say in their own futures – that they have no choice but to accept whatever AI companies unleash on us. I don’t accept that. The rise of AI affects us all, and so we should all demand a voice in the conversation. That’s why I’m volunteering for Pause AI.
